June 20, 2013 0

Members of the emergency services including the Coastguard, the Ambulance service, the Fire Brigade and Gardai were called to Balbriggan this evening as a young girl was take unconscious from the sea. The girl who got into trouble while swimming with her friends at the end of the pier was rescued by a man from local boat who happened to be on-board at the time of the incident. The girl was treated on the pier before being moved to the ambulance for transport to the hospital.

During this good weather we ask that everyone take extra care when swimming in the sea as we reported a similar incident during the summer last year. The lifeguards are on duty Saturday’s and Sundays for the month of June and will be on duty 7 days a week during the months of July & August.
